Cannot add custom controls to SplitContainer? RRS feed

  • Question

  • For some reason, I can't add any custom controls to a SplitContainer panel in .NET 2.0.  When I try to add these controls to the panel via the designer, I receive the following error:

    "Failed to create component 'CustomCheckBox'.  The error message follows: 'System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException: Unable to load one or more of the requested types'"...

    It doesn't matter if the custom control is within the same project or not, the same error occurs.  In the above example, all I did was create a CustomCheckBox that inherited the CheckBox class, but didn't add anything to the class other than an empty constructor.  I don't have any problems with other controls/panels, just the SplitContainer.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Josh

  • can you drop this on a SplitContainer -

    public class TestCheckBox : System.Windows.Forms.CheckBox
    {
     public TestCheckBox() { }
    }
