Team Members Project Site Contribute Rights RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys

We seem to have some team members who are not able to upload documents any more. I don't believe any changes have been made config wise.

Any ideas why? The project sites are synchronised permissions from Project Onlline

  • Hello. The default permission model allows you to give a group of users read access to the project sites using the "View Project Site" Project security group category permission. You could turn off the Project site user permission sync and manage it manually / build a custom process to add users to the project sites.

  • Hello,

What's the error / issue? Can they still create issues and risks?

  • Hi There,

Thanks for the reply. So they seem to just see options for 'Share' 'Copy Link' 'Sync'etc, no 'New' or 'Upload'

It seems to be on the doc library and the lists (risks, issues)

  • Changing one of the users permissions to Project Manager, sorted the issue - however we thought team members could upload documents too? and list items

  • Users who have assignments in the project, they are added to the "Team members (Microsoft Project Web App)" on the associated Project Site which has the "Team members (Microsoft Project Web App)" permission level. This permission level allows the user to add docs and items etc. If a user is just on the Project Team and not assigned to any tasks, they are added as Readers, these user cannot edit the lists and libraries.

  • Thanks Paul. Is there a way to have it so Team Members can contribute even without being in the team / having a task?
