Delete picture from sharepoint site RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
    we have a sharepoint intranet site and there is need to delete one picture from it.

    I opened SharePoint Designer, selected master pages, then page.master and deleted the unnecessary line:

    <a href="http://www.fifth_site.com" class="company-logo logo-fifth"></a>

    Here is full footer with five logos code:

    </div>
    <footer>
    	<div class="footer-wrap">
    		<div class="fl">
    			<ul class="company-list">
    				<li>
    					<a href="http://www.first_site.com/" class="company-logo logo-first"></a>
    					<a href="http://www.second_site.com/" class="company-logo logo-second"></a>
    					<a href="http://www.third_site.com" class="company-logo logo-third"></a>
    					<a href="http://www.fourth_site.com" class="company-logo logo-fourth"></a>
    				</li>
    			</ul>
    		</div>
    		<div class="fr footer-links">
    					<WebPartPages:XsltListViewWebPart runat="server" ViewFlag="" ViewSelectorFetchAsync="False" InplaceSearchEnabled="False" ServerRender="False" ClientRender="True" InitialAsyncDataFetch="False" IsClientRender="False" GhostedXslLink="main.xsl" NoDefaultStyle="" ViewGuid="{A90711C2-BF6C-4F2E-BD8E-0870FAE30E7E}" EnableOriginalValue="False" ViewContentTypeId="" ListUrl="" ListDisplayName="" WebId="5f9461f4-9d56-403d-b32c-7e3352f53904" ListId="4d43f4d3-6b63-4fd7-b678-93c635c9e2b9" PageSize="-1" UseSQLDataSourcePaging="True" DataSourceID="" ShowWithSampleData="False" AsyncRefresh="False" ManualRefresh="False" AutoRefresh="False" AutoRefreshInterval="60" Title="Nuorodos (apatinė dalis)" FrameType="None" SuppressWebPartChrome="False" Description="" IsIncluded="True" ZoneID="wpz" PartOrder="2" FrameState="Normal" AllowRemove="True" AllowZoneChange="True" AllowMinimize="True" AllowConnect="True" AllowEdit="True" AllowHide="True" IsVisible="True" CatalogIconImageUrl="/_layouts/15/images/itlink.png?rev=23" TitleUrl="/Lists/nuorodosFooter" DetailLink="/Lists/nuorodosFooter" HelpLink="" HelpMode="Modeless" Dir="Default" PartImageSmall="" MissingAssembly="Cannot import this Web Part."     				</div>
    		<div class="clearfix"></div>
    	</div>
    	<div class="copyright-text">
    		Some copyright text
    	</div>
    </footer>
    </div>

    After that, half of intranet users see fifth logo, other half not. How is it possible if it is removed from code? They cleared their web browser caches.

  • Actually the master page was not published. It should have been published in galleries, master pages and page layouts. The first answer was correct but now it is deleted.

  • Actualy page is saved in SharePoint designer, we publish when editing page in web browser. Otherwise all users would not see any change.

  • Hi,

    Can you check the view source from the user browser who able to see 5 logos and verify the logo is rendering from which div and compare with your master page code.

    Thanks,

    Venkat

  • The source from user who is able to see is exactly the same as in example just with 5th line. Div and ul class is same.

  • Hi,

    Any other customization on the master page?

    As you said, “half of intranet users see fifth logo, other half not”, any differences between the two kinds of users? Permissions settings?

    Please do a copy of the current master page, set the copy as the master page of the current site, let’s see if the issue persists.

    Best regards,

    Patrick
