Network Load Baancing - Cluster in Win 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I need to deploy my ASP.Net portal in web farm environment. So I am going with Network Load Balancing Server to create the cluster. I have few questions in doing the same. Please clarify my following queries;

    1) When I create cluster using Network Load Balancing server in Windows Server 2003, I have been asked to enter Full Internet name. What is this, should I enter the FQDN that we have purchased for our portal?

    2) In one article it was said I should use FQDN for cluster is different and FQDN for application is different? Is that true?

    3) Cluster IP that I enter should it be a public IP address? Is this the IP address that is mapped to domain name? I am getting confused here, please explain the same in detail.

    4) Where should I create the cluster, in any of the nodes or it should be a different server?

    Thanks in Advance.
