Connection Manager with null modem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to use Connection Manager to establish a PPP session between my WM6 device and another device over a Bluetooth serial port.

As the other device is not a modem I would need to use a null modem instead of a standard modem but I haven't seen how to create a null modem in WM6 and use it with Connection Manager.

I've created a modem entry in the registry (in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ExtModems) with DeviceType = 0 meaning direct modem but I can't see it when I try to create a new Connection in Settings menu. If I set DeviceType = 1 I can create a new Connection using this modem but the WM6 device will send AT commands during connection establishment and the other device won't be able to answer these commands.

So my question is: is there a way to create programmatically a null modem on WM6 to use it with ConnectionManager API?

    Thanks for your help.

    Michael
