Printing a bing map v8 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We need to programmatically print a generated bing map v8. So far we've used the method found in this example: http://bingmapsv8samples.azurewebsites.net/#Map%20Image%20Generator, by generating an image from the canvases of the map. It was working, until recently it stopped (the example is not working too).

Now the following error in chrome is thrown (in firefox the error is "SecurityError: The operation is insecure."):

Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute 'toDataURL' on 'HTMLCanvasElement': Tainted canvases may not be exported.
So how do we proceed? Is there any way that we can make it work?

  • This error indicates that something in one of the images in the canvas is either not on the same domain as the website or does not have CORs enabled. Take a look at the different datasets you are adding to the map and try removing each one until the error goes away. This should help you identify where the issue is.
