On-Premises SharePoint with One Driver for Business on iPAD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have on premises SharePoint 2013 farm and would like to deploy bunch of iPADs with "OneDrive for Business" app to access, edit files on iPAD ( Office for iPAD installed) and save onto on-premises SharePoint "One Drive".

We don't have Office 365 subscription. Is it possible to access, edit, upload/download on-premises SharePoint "OneDrive" files on iPAD without Offcie 365 subscription?

What's the best solution in our scenario?

Any help in this issue is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Answers

  • As I understand it that is a limitation of the current software.  To edit you need to actually download the files.

  • Yes the current OneDrive for Business app for IOS supports logging in to on-premises SharePoint environments using NTLM or Forms based Authentication without requiring an office 365 account.  Check the FAQs here:

  • Thank You Paul,

I am able to access on-premises Share Point OneDrive from iPad, however it is not allowing to edit on iPad and asking for Office365 credentials. I can download for offline access and edit using Office on iPad, however not allowing to edit while connected to OneDrive. Is there anything we need to do to enable editing on iPad?
