Office 2013: Extend the people pane RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I want to extend Outlook 2013's people pane (located below the email body). More precisely, I would like to add an additional tab below the "meetings tab". I'm thinking of writing an Visual C# add-in.

Can anyone tell me how to access the people pane and add an additonal tab? I have already read through the documentation and tutorials, however, there is no hint with regards to the people pane. Is this at all possible?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

  • Hello Thomas,

Thank you for your question but this is a German speaking forum so please post your question in German, if you are looking for the English forums you can find them here http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/

Regarding your question, from my knowledge pre-defined groups can't be customized.

    Have a nice day,

    Ionut

  • You would need to create your own pane/group or possibly try to use the adjacent windows approach, but that requires pretty heavy Win32 API programming. See http://blogs.msdn.com/b/stephen_griffin/archive/2010/06/01/adjacent-windows-in-outlook.aspx for more information on the adjacent windows approach.
