mixing managed and unmanaged code(wxWidets) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I'm using a tool called dotnetbar which i think is great. So in order to use this i've created a new (c++) project.

Everyting works fine. But since we've already developed tons of gui elements( in wxWidgets ) that don't need to be created again in

dotnetbar/windows forms i'm looking for an elegant way to integrate it. So far no luck.

Basically what happens is, i include the main header file for wxWidgets (#include <wx/wx.h> )

compiles fine, but when running the application it just crashes. It gives me an exeception, but the call stack dives directly into loaded dll's

Clearly the problem is with the wxWidgets, but we're relying to much on them too port all of the code,

not only common dialogs are built upon it but our client/server system as well.

So can this kind of exception be circumvented?  Because i believe in my native c++ there will be surely

allocation/free bugs as well;) just not in the headers
