Submit-AzureRmDataLakeAnalyticsJob with file in blob

    Question

  • Hi

I'm trying to automate an azure data lake job but running it via a powershell cmdlet in Azure Runbooks but the particular cmdlet appears the only support a local script path. If I put the script in blob storage (for example), is there a way I can run it from powershell?

    Thanks

  • Hi Steve,

The Submit-AdlJob / Submit-AzureRmDataLakeAnalyticsJob cmdlet allows you to pass in either the local path to your U-SQL script (using -ScriptPath) or the script contents itself (-Script).

If you put your U-SQL script in blob storage, then you could either fetch the U-SQL script contents or the script file itself using Azure Storage cmdlets, then submit the job with the U-SQL script contents using either the -Script parameter or the -ScriptPath parameter, depending on your approach.

    I hope this helps!
