A good resource for creating a "hello world" Outlook Add-In? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to write an Outlook Add-in.  I can't seem to get a "hello world" add-in to load into Outlook.  When I try to load the .dll I get " <dll name> is not a valid Office Add-in.  I try to load the Add-in using the Manage add-ins under File->Options->Add-Ins->Manage Add-ins.  I've also tried adding the Registry entries described by some articles I've seen on the web but this doesn't help either.  How can I get this running?

I'm using Visual Studio 2010, and the Outlook Add-In project wizard.  A good online article to get things going or a book would be helpful too.  I've bought an Outlook VBA book and assume that the object model is the same with C#.

    Please help,  Thanks!
