Adjust Report Header Width in Run-time Based on Report Columns in SSRS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am developing a ssrs  report. The report have 21 columns. However, For some parameter values I   have hidden the report  columns. when the report columns are hidden, report body Width is reduced. But report header seems to be static and not aligned with report body. how to adjust Header Width in Run-time Based on Report Columns?

    Thanks for the help

  • Hi bmsqldev,

According to your description, you add page header in the report and hide columns based on report parameter values. You want to make the page header width equals to the total column width, right?

In Reporting Services, the width and height properties can’t be specified based on the expression. When we design the report, page header width is fixed. So it will not be changed dynamically when running the report. To work around the issue, you can place page header content in proper tablix header, make the tablix header repeat on each page. Please refer to this article: Display Row and Column Headers on Multiple Pages (Report Builder and SSRS).

Meanwhile, you could provide Microsoft a feature request at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer so that we can try to modify and expand the product features based on your needs.

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
