Internet Explorer 11 on WE8S

Question

Hello,

Is it possible to have Internet Explorer 11 on WE8S? It seems easy to get it for WES7 but not on WE8S from MyOEM. Why?

 Can someone help me and clarify the situation?

Two ways:

1. Done updates via WEDU. 

2. After image done to deployed, download it from "Windows Update"

Thanks for the suggestions but it didn't help.

WEDU never proposed me the Internet Explorer 11 component, only Internet Explorer 10 security updates (and I am up to date since it is not proposing me anything else). In ICE, the catalog under feature\user applications only propose Internet Explorer 10 as well. Should it be listed somewhere else? Is it bundled in a ie10 security update?

As for Windows Update in my image, same thing, Internet Explorer is not proposed either (I have selected the option to propose recommended update as well). 

I also tried to download the installer form the web with my image but it is stating that it is not for the OS I am using. I downloaded it anyway and tried to install but it did not work either...

Did somebody ever included Internet Explorer 11 in a WE8S image?

As far as I know, the latest version of IE on Windows Embedded 8 Standard is IE 10

Not IE 11.

This is what I was thinking but could not explain why since WES7 has it...

I don't know if someone from MS could provide a reason but it is not the first time WE8S is left aside compared to WES7.

Isn't WES8 the unwanted child no one talks about.

Ever since the advent of WES 8.1 Industry (Pro etc.) which includes IE11, it has been neglected.

WES 8.1 is going the same way since W10 IoT Insecure Carnival Edition.

I mean, 250+ updates...

@ P Bunny E - you are correct. WES8 was the last hurrah from the Windows Embedded team before being re-org'd into the desktop team. I would advise not using WES8 and go straight to WEI8.1 or Windows 10 IoT Enterprise.
