How do I get LINQ for Entities RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm trying to work with LINQ for Entities by my VS2008 don't have it. All I have is, in Add... New Item, is: DataSet and LINQ to SQL Classes. Is DataSet the LINQ for Entities?

Get this scenario: I create two classes: Clients and ClientTypes and and Foreign Key between them. To make a report shold I create the classes like this or I need to create a View class that brings the two table data?

       Thanks,

  • The tooling for LINQ to Entities will ship with VS2008 SP1. You can download the SP1 beta here:

What are you using the create your reports?

  • Hi, I still have SP1 installed but the LINQ for Entities is not there or better, I don't know where it is.

I'm intended to use Crystal Reports of WPF structure to make report.

  • If you have sp1 beta installed, when you do add new item in a project, you should have an option to add an "ADO.NET Entity Data Model".  This is what you use in order to set up a model which will allow you to work with LINQ to Entities.
