Using Multiple Connections for one heiarchy RRS feed

  • I've done countless searches on this topic and haven't found one question or article that specifically relates to what I'm looking for, so please bare with me.

I have a CLR object named ObjectA (for example purposes). It is mapped to a single table in a single database. Inside ObjectA is an EntityRef to an ObjectB, which is mapped to a database on a server different from that of ObjectA. When I try to reference ObjectB thru ObjectA either via a query or CLR, I get a Type Cast exception. While the error seems benign enough, I assume it's because LINQ does not have a DataContext to properly access ObjectB when the time is right to load it up.

Does LINQ support using multiple connections for the same object heiarchy? How about for deferred loading? How would I go about making this happen?
