  • Hi yeminoo,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

After you have installed Microsoft Report Viewer, when you tried to build a project.

Please open that project, right click toolbox>> choose Items>>Choose Report Viewer from .NET Framework Components(Make sure your project are using .NET 3.5 or .NET 4.0 version)

Then you will be able to use Microsoft Report Viewr.

You can also referred to this page for further information http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms252104.aspx

    Thanks

  • Thank you so much for answering me. But I still could not see it in .NET Framework Components. I already started the project before I installed the Microsoft report viewer.

    Thanks,

  • Start a new project. Do you now see the Report Viewer in the new project?

If so, you will have to transfer you work to the new project.

  • Hi yeminoo,

If possible, could you show us the results of .NET Framework version on your OS with this tool:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx

Then show us a screenshot of .NET Framework components>> Filter files by R character.

Let's see if you can find it from that component.

I've tested steps on VB Express and it seems that if everything is health and you are running with .NET 3.5 or higher, the report viewer will be chosen by my solution.

    Thanks,

  • Hi GILANG,

As far as I know, Report Viewer canbe "microsoft report viewer" and "crystal report viewer".

For this post, op is looking for "report viewer control" which is built in "Microsoft Report Viewer".

So they may the same thing we need.

But I should say sorry that he haven't went back with more detail about this issue.

It is hard for me to reproduce.

As for your issue, I have tried to install that package and opened Report Viewer control from toolbox.

If you have any concern on this, please feel free to let me know your details.

    Thanks,
