InfoPath Forms opens in Internet Explorer as XML code RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are in the process of moving from Office 2010 Professional Plus to the Office 365 version of Office 2013 ProPlus. I've encountered an issue when opening InfoPath forms from our SharePoint 2007 Standard server. When opening the form with InfoPath 2010, the form opens correctly. After the migration to Office 365 ProPlus, the form does not open in InfoPath 2013. It opens up in Internet Explorer as raw XML code.

At first I thought it had something to do with the .xml file associations. When I went to check the .xml file association it had actually changed to Microsoft Application Virtualization Virtual Process Launcher during the Office migration. I changed it back to InfoPath and even restarted the computer. But still the form does not open in InfoPath.

If you first start InfoPath Filler and then open the form directly in the application it works. It seems that the Office 365 version of InfoPath somehow works differently.

I found a post about this same issue in the Office 365 forums, but it was suggested that it should be posted here instead. Can you please help me?
