none
SqlServer StoredProcedure does not return a value, but I cannot specify return type <None> in DBML/LINQ RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have this SP that does not return a value:

    ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[CopyEodJobsCompletion]
        @sourceId int,
        @destinationId int
    AS

    INSERT INTO CopyEodJobsCompletion
      ([EodStatusId],[Stage],[Service],[IsPartOfT24Cob],[Company],[StartDateTime],[CompleteDateTime],[CompletionCode])
    SELECT
       @destinationId,[Stage],[Service],[IsPartOfT24Cob],[Company],[StartDateTime],[CompleteDateTime],[CompletionCode]
    FROM
      CopyEodJobsCompletion
    WHERE
      [EodStatusId] = @sourceId;

    When I try to insert this in my DBML LINQ model I get a warning saying that return type could not be identified and that I have to set it myself.

    Since no data is returned I would like to select 'None' but that is not possible. I have also tries to insert a Return(0) in the end hoping that this would cause LINQ to detect it to int, but same result.

    Any hints?

    TIA

    Best regards Soeren D.
