  • Hi Reddy,

Before we setting up database mirroring, we need to note the following prerequisites.

    1. the partners and the witness must be running on the same version of SQL Server for establishing a new mirroring session.
    2. We need to verify the mirror server has sufficient disk space for the mirror database.
    3. When you are creating the mirror database on the mirror server, we need to restoring the backup of the principal database with specifying the same database name WITH NORECOVERY.
    4. If database mirroring has been stopped, before restarting, any subsequent log backups taken on the principal database must be applied to the mirror database.

There are more details about the prerequisites, restrictions, and recommendations for database mirroring in SQL Server 2008, you can review the following topic.

  • Hi,

    • First we have to check whether sql server editions of all servers is having same editions and versions
    • then we have to check whether the database recovery model is full or not? which is you going to configure database in mirror session.
    • you need to verify the mirror server  has  having sufficient disk space or not for mirroring database
    • while restoring the principal server database backup on mirror server you should choose only with NO-RECOVERY option.

i hope this will helpful to you ...
