Unable to use 2013 Workflows (1 site of 3 in Web App) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I successfully set up WFM 1.0 on our SP 2013 server.  I was able to register it using the following command..

    Register-SPWorkflowService -SPSite "http://myserver/site2" -WorkflowHostUri "http://myserver:12291" -AllowOAuthHttp

As you can see I ran it on SPsite "site2"

    Now...

I'm able to create a  2013 Workflow on "http://myserver/site2" and the root site "http://myserver/" but, when I go to "http://myserver/site1" in SP Designer and create a workflow, the 2013 Workflow option is not available.

Any idea why I can only create 2013 workflows on only 2 out of the 3 sites in the same web application?

    Thanks.

  • I actually figured it out..

I had to include the "-force" parameter in Register-SPWorkflowService command to get it working.  Not sure why but I think it was confused :)

  • Hi

Assuming this is subsite then it looks like you haven't got a  site feature enabled. Tho most of the features are pertinent to SharePoint 2010 workflows as these do not appear unless the 2010 aggregated feature is enabled.

  • Glad you sorted it.  I found he SPD 2013 workflows a bit of a doubled edge sword in they lack the Content Publishing of the 2010 w/fs - which is just one line!  You get more support if you build the declarative w/fs in VS2013. Also, I gather there is some DLL references in vs2013 that I need to ensure are in my project. This gives some of the missing activities.   A presenter called Pialo went through this on SharePoint Saturday but he seems a bit busy to respond to my email ;-(
