"WScript.Shell" equivalent in Visual Basic .NET RRS feed

    Hi all,

i was wondering if there exists an equivalent statement in asp.net/vb.net for

    Set objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

and can we then call something like this

    objShell.run "msiexec /i http://abc.com/asd.msi /passive",1 , True

What are the thoughts about achieving the same thing in vb.net?

Hmmm.... that is what I thought. But I was just wondering and trying to know what the community thinks about it or what thoughts they have to share regarding it.

I was wrong , i rememered that only after posting that message and seeing your reply, there is one method (Server.CreateObjectFromClsid and Server.CreateObject) in Server class which are there for old asp compatibility you can use them , although you could be exposed to a hell lot of COM exceptions that may pop their head up.
