  • In the new project dialog, did you look in the Windows Store subcategory under VB or C# or C++?

That's where the Metro templates are in my VS 2012 installation.

  • Yes, I'm only able to see the Windows Store option under the C# or VB or C++ but there are no its further child options.

  • aw naw!

In VS 2012 products, Microsoft has changed the "windows metro style apps" name to Windows Store. Secondly, you also need to get a windows 8 developer license in order to compile and run the metro style apps. When I ran the app first time, it forced me to get the windows 8 developer license and then it worked fine.

I hope it will help you to roll the ball in right direction.
