PS 2010 - Issues and Risks are not showing under PWA Home Reminders RRS feed

  • Dear Folks,

    Weird thing is happening. When someone assigns me any active risk or issue, idealy it should come under my pwa home issues and risks reminders, but it doesn't come. Moreover, it shows under my Issues and Risks page when I drill down further (I am working as a team memeber). Its very random and heppens with other users as well.

    Kindly help me, its very strange.

  • Hi,

    Unfortunately this is by design, the code for the reminders web / issues and risks page looks for these values. If you want the reminders functionality you will need to use the default values. Changing default fields and values will lose some functionality and in some cases cause reporting synch errors in the project server queue.

  • Hi Mohsin,

    Once you create the issues/risks on a project site , Publish the project plan & verify that issues/risks appears on reminders web part.

    I published the project and checked. Its same as before, doesnt show any risk or issue under PWA home reminder.

  • Hi Mohsin,

    After you published the project plan, Can you please check the data in reporting database
    MSP_WSSIssue table? Do you see the record of that ProjectUID?

    Just curious to know, did you customize the issues/risks list ?Did you/admin delete the OOB risk list, or delete any of the OOB fields in that list?

    Records are properly in MSP_WssRisk and

    MSP_WssIssue and displaying on my custom dashboards as well.

  • Ok, How about any customization done on Issues/Risks list?
    Any deletion on OOB fields/lists?

  • No, nothing. Custom dashboards are built on SSRS and all risks and issues are showing there properly. Problem is with PWA home reminders and its totally OOB. I havnt made any change on PWA home page.

    Its very very strange!!

    Have you changed the Status field and values for the status field at all on those lists?

    Yes. I updated the default status values, just removed the numbers. Now present status values are:

    Active
    Postponed
    Closed

    Add if you add the brackets and numbers back in on a test site as below then create a new issue / risk, do these appear in the reminders page? It should do.

    (1) Active
    (2) Postponed
    (3) Closed

    YES, its working after changing the status values. But whats the solutoin for this as we have a requirement to remove these number from status values.

    So default values for Status has these implications. Does default values of Priority as well have implications? How am I to find out such dependencies? only after I encounter issues??????

  • Hi all, to let you know. The synchorinastion problem between reminders ans issues only happens if you change default values for status field.
