Azure data factory or other Azure integration resources/tools? RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi,

To fulfill the below requirements, is Data Factory fit for purpose or do we have other Azure tools that can be used? Please advise other Azure alternatives that can be considered?

    1. inter-applications data transformation/mapping automated interfaces (currently implemented on-prem using WebMethods)

    2. Automated data movement from on-prem into Azure cloud (there can be data mapping required or can simply a data replication)

Data volume/frequency is not high - medium to low.

    Thanks

    regards.

  • Hi,

Azure data factory is a good option here.

    1. For number 1, you can create linked services for different applications and then refer them into your transformation pipelines in ADF

    2. You need to create a gateway to move the data from on-premises to Azure using ADF.

Azure Data Factory (ADF) is the apt solution to above use-cases.

    Thanks,

    Pratik
