Edit form for Video content type (New/Edit) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    In an assets library, I've enabled 2 content types : Video and Audio.

    I have to customize the forms for both content types (New Document, and Edit Properties).

    For Audio type, no problem, when adding a new, et editing existing, we're on a standard EditForm.aspx page, so we can edit this page and add any webparts in it. (http://domain/sites/mySite/MyAssetsLib/Forms/EditForm.aspx)

    But for Video CT, the page is http://domain/sites/mySite/_layouts/15/EditVideoSet.aspx
    (with the video player, thumbnail selector, renditions, and form fields)

    And we can't Edit this page to add webparts so we can't customize this form.

    Any idea on how to modify this form for Video CT ?

    Please note i have no acces to SPDesigner, nor backend solution using Visual Studio, only end-user customization (with owner permissions)

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

    A thought is that, instead of customizing this page directly, you can create a custom master page contains some custom JavaScript, this JavaScript will alter the HTML source code of the EditVideoSet.aspx page to implement the style you want.

    About how to create custom master page using Design Manager:

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

    Have you found any solution for this? I'm also looking to customize the EditVideoSet.aspx form. Please suggest.

  • Hi,

    This is what has resolved the above concern.

    EditVideoSet.aspx is a system page and store in "15" folder in server, we can't modify it directly.

    If you use classic mode for SharePoint Online, as a workaround, we can add some JavaScript code into master page to achieve it.

    The following code for your reference, modiy the code below("VideoLib" is my library name, please change it) and add into <head/> tag in master page.

    <script src="//" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(function () {
    	var currentUrl=window.location.href;
    	var libraryName="VideoLib";
    		alert("Dennis Test");
    		//add some jQuery code to customize this page.
