  • Question

  • I am setting up a database and a lot of the tables will center around a piece of equipment.    Each table will hold different information, somehow they all realate to the main unit.  If I relate all the tables that hold the various info to a central table for referential integrity, is that a no no?  I'll probably have 20 or more tables that will relate back to the central table.  While I may access the data in each table independently, I don't want the data added or deleted unless this is done in the main table first.

Am I on the right track?  If needed, I can upload a pic of my diagram thus far.

    Thanks for the help!
