  • Question

  • I am new to WINCE.... I have selected TI BSP for the compilation of my OS DESIGN project... and during the time of building I am facing this error

    makefile.def: Including C:\WINCE700\public\common\oak\misc\sources.ReleaseType_PLATFORMCOMMON
    BUILD: [02:0000000560:ERRORE] Error(s) in directory "C:\WINCE700\platform\common\src\soc\Freescale\common_fsl_v1\pmic\MC13783_FSL_V1\SDK\".
    BUILD: [02:0000000561:ERRORE] C:\WINCE700\public\common\oak\misc\makefile.def(505) : fatal error U1052: file 'C:\WINCE700\public\common\oak\misc\sources.ReleaseType_PLATFORMCOMMON' not found

    sources.ReleaseType_platformcommon file is missing.......

I am unable to find it on net too.. If I get the code of this file from some where then i can copy and paste it and i may fix the problem......

So, please help me to solve the problem....

  • i believe you have multiple BSP and the error is from Freescale BSP. but yours is TI BSP.

can you try "clean sysgen" in the advance build option?

if still happened. you can find a "dirs" file in C:\WINCE700\platform\common\src\soc path.OPen it, you can find an entry "DIRS=*"

just replace it with your BSP soc. for ex) DIRS=COMMON_TI_V1

which can avoid building other SOC also reduce your build time when you perform "Rebuild current BSP and subprojects"

  • I don't think that will solve the problem.   The problem seems to be that an important file is missing.   So short of removing Platform\Common completely this error will persist.   Not to mention that this solution assumes that the OP only plans to ever build for the TI chip.

sources.ReleaseType.platformcommon should be in that folder.   If it is not, one way to fix this is to copy sources.ReleaseType.platform and change platform to platcomm.

Salithia, the question that you should ask yourself is how did this file disappear?

  • A better way, if you want to speed up the build and still keep the option of building for multiple SOCs, is this: http://guruce.com/blogpost/speeding-up-the-windows-embedded-compact-7-build-process

Same is valid for WEC2013 and CE 6.
