Hi,

in simple html there's no such thing so you'll need to fall back to solutions which make use of javascript/jQuery or Flash or another third party solution.

You can't consistently rely on browsers' access to the Clipboard. The hacks you have found are probably as good as it gets, along with Flash-based options like ZeroClipboard (https://github.com/zeroclipboard/zeroclipboard)
