Do ReportViewer events work the same for ServerReports and they do for LocalReports? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Meaning, that because I'm running a ServerReport on a ReportViewer client, can I still capture the same events for the ServerReport without having to extra work?

    Thanks!!

  • Yes. All events events available in the ReportViewer control apply when you use server reports as well. There's no difference in how you subscribe to the ReportViewer events when using server reports.

  • Thanks for your reply!

Well, I'm not getting the events in intellisence for ServerReport like I do for LocalReport.

For example I can do this: rptViewer.LocalReport. SubreportProcessing, but I cannot do this: rptViewer.ServerReport. SubreportProcessing.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks again!

  • Ah, yes. Events in the LocalReport object are only used for the LocalReport object.

What are you trying to accomplish for ServerReport that must be done in this hypothetical SubreportProcessing event? :)
