  • what's the correct behavior in Win8.1/Win10, when VOIP is conecting -> then press Power to enter into connect standby? does VOIP need disconnect after press power key to enter into connect standby?

    test steps is :

1). Start VOIP call with Metro Skype in win8.1 or win10.
2). System enter Connect standby (by press power button)during VOIP establish by Skype or LYNC.

does VOIP need disconnect or still in connection after press Power key? what's the correct behavior for VOIP in win8.1/win10.

  • Hi,

Assuming you are writing your own application, if you Start VOIP call and then system enters Connected Standby mode (while still in the call), then IMHO, the call should continue without getting disconnected.

Other system devices will enter low power state, however, the internet connectivity is maintained, therefore the call can be continued. Internet connectivity, while system is in connected standby mode, is one of the fundamental purposes of this power mode.

If the user wants to disconnect, then wake the machine and disconnect the call.

Skype, when in connected standby mode, allows to receive incoming IM messages and Video calls. Please refer the below link:

Hence, your application should provide similar experience. Hope that helps.
