How to support Windows Search Service in Outlook RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • We have our own service provider and we want to support window search service(WSS). But if we enable it for Outlook, we are facing some issue like logout , crash and performance . Even Outlook is closed the profile session is still active, looks like Search protocol host is not releasing profile session. Is there any way to inform the Search protocol host to release the session? Do we any document/help on how to support window search service (WSS)?.

  • Base on my understanding, the WSS will build index for the Outlook at the background that is the reason why when you evevn close the Outlook however the profile sesstion is still active.

    Does below article usefule?

  • Yes, WSS will build the index at the background hence Outlook session is still active, but I just want check is there any way to inform the WSS to stop indexing while existing the Outlook.  Since session is active, even if re open the Outlook, it is not prompting profile selection dialog, Outlook is opened with active session.
