Authenticate against AD in different domain RRS feed

    Hi,

    We run SharePoint 2013.

    We have three environments DEV, TEST, PROD.

    All of the are in domain "ABC" and currently are linked to AD within "ABC".

    We now got a TEST AD which is in domain "XYZ".

    Can we keep DEV and TEST environments in domain "ABC" and reconfigure them to authenticate/synchronize against the new TEST AD in "XYZ"?

    If so, would you have a pointer to some technical documentation?

    The configuration is simple.  All SharePoint Authentication and Accounts will be created in domain which SharePoint Server Resides. 

    You can setup One way or two way trust between the domains and then configure People Picker on your web application to use the 2nd domain inside SharePoint. 

    You can configure two Profile Sync connections to import profiles of users from both domain.

    I suggest you use only single Domain if it is impossible to avoid that.
