How to deposit the responsible for a share on file server system RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there

We're currently rebuilding our File Server running Windows 2008 R2 in a MS Active Directory Environment. The target is to deposit responsible persons on file share Level.

Situation:   - We have a share called "ABC" on our File Server "123".
                     - Users "User1 + User 2" has R/W Access on this share.
                     - IT admins get's now a request from "user 3" to get R/W Access to this share "ABC" too.

-> We would like deposit on the share "ABC" the Name of the "owner" of this share, because this owner has to
                          confirm this request.

We know there is a field called "owner" inside the security settings, but we think if we deposit the owner on this Level, this owner gets to much user rights.

Do you know any other way to deposit the "owner" on share level?

    Greetings,

    Gino

  • Idea:

I create a security group inside Active Directory called:

    sgrp_%name_of_folder_path%_RW

then I configure under the tab "managed by" the one, who is responsible for the folder.

Does anyone know, if this solution has hints?

    Greetings,
    Gino
