Sign up for Office 365 Dev --> Server Error 502 RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I go to http://dev.office.com/ and select "Sign up and start building apps", I get an error:

    Server Error

    <fieldset>

    502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.

    There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server.

    </fieldset>

    I've been getting this error for several days now. Any idea what is wrong? Is the site having scalability problems?

  • Hi,

    Does the error continue on your PC? If so, please try clean up your browser cache and let us know if it works. I suspect the internet access provider may have incorrect configuration.

    What if access this url in other PC?

    This should not be a scalability problem, if so there should be many such reports.

    thanks.

  • I can record a video with Lync if that would help. I continue to get this error no matter what computer or browser I'm in (Chrome, IE 9/10). I get it while at home and at work. I created a 2nd Live account and I still get the same error with it. It is hard to believe I'm the only one.

  • Can you tell me you Operating system language, and the location(country level)? I'd like to know if it's a region specific issue.

    thanks.

  • I'm getting the same error as the previous poster regarding this issue.

    502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.

    There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server.

    This is happening on both IE9 and Chrome.

  • Hello all.  I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue.  One thing that might work is to try the same steps using an "InPrivate" browsing session in Internet Explorer.  Or clear your browser cache; it might be a caching issue.

    To start an InPrivate session, go to Tools (press the Alt key if you don't see a menu), and then click InPrivate Browsing.

    Please let me know either way if you're successful.  I've reported the issue to the platform team.

  • I've tried InPrivate browsing with IE and Incognito with Chrome in the past and received the server 502 error. I've also received this error before that I'm currently getting:

    "The specified CGI application encountered an error and the server terminated the process."

    A new terribly exciting video of me getting this error in both IE and Chrome is here:

  • Hi Cameron.  Thanks for identifying the issue and being so thorough with your documentation of what is happening.

    We applied a fix and I wanted to see if you are still experiencing the issue.  If you are still experiencing the issue, could you please send the value of the content attribute (as displayed below) to us?  It's a code that will help us debug:

  • Did this. Plus reinstall of browser. Getting the same error for IE and Chrome. I can, however, download the document, but I can't edit it online.
