Installation problem with Visual Studio 2012. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have just unistalled Visual Studio 2011 and now I want install 2012 pro, but I get an error when I try it.

I can't set the install location, and I can't go forward, it forces the location to an old location that I have used in VS2011.

I have just updated the system to windows 8.

  • What is "Visual Studio 2011"? Are you referring to Visual Studio 11 Beta, or is it Visual Studio 2010?

    Please identify the actual product.

Also, please clarify the timing of your OS upgrade. Did you upgrade before or after the "Visual Studio 2011" installation?

Once we have a clear picture of your situation, we should be able to help.

  • I can't give you a picture of the error because my account wasn't verified yet.

However, seems that the installation program get a default location that I used for Visual Studio 11 Beta and I can't replace it.

I have installed Visual Sudio 11 Beta with windows 7.
