    Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the process of looking at options for studying material to sit my MCTS exam(s). I have found this book by Microsoft which seems to cover everything, in terms of the topics. However, when I have read the reviews, on Amazon, most people have said further research is needed to be able to pass the exam as the book itself just isn't enough. For example, one user has mentioned MVC has just 48 pages dedicated to explaining it.

    Microsoft Book Link: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/book.aspx?ID=14323&Locale=en-us

What I'd like to know is; Has anyone on here read this book and covered the exam? If this is the case, about the content within the book, does anyne know of any other resources/alterantive books which can assist with passing the exam?

    Many Thanks,

    Dan

    Hi,

like the reviews mentioned only reading a book doesn't give you a guarantee to pass an exam. To prepare yourself for an exam you should also have the appropriate experience. A book can't contain everything this exam is covering (maybe if it has more than 2,000 pages). Nevertheless, this book is a good starting point. It also should contain links to further resources. A good reference is MSDN, which helps in most situations. Also the appropriate training kit helps. On this site you can find a list of available training kits.
