Open Word Doc in C# RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is there any control using which i can open word doc within form. Like i have pdf control in C# to open pdf file within a form and can perform all sorts of functionalists using the same.Somewhere i came across winword control which i can add to toolbox and then can use it but i couldn't find winwordcontrol.dll.

    Thanks,

    Mehul

  • A control like that may be out there, but I don't know of it. You can write your own using Interop, copying document contents into a list box or some such. It will be somewhat time consuming if you're not already familiar with the Word object model. Here's a good 'getting started' page (int C#, you don't mention your programming language):

  • You could try this http://www.codeproject.com/KB/miscctrl/winwordcontrol.aspx. Though developed for Word 2000, people in the comments are apparently using it with Word 2007.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I've already gone through that control. What i am worried about is, when i open the testApplication, word doc opens within form but i am unable to see different pages within it. There is no page separation for the opened doc. Is there any way i can create a control which opens word application the way we open it in normal scenario but within the form without losing any of the functionality provided by word application.

    Thanks,

    Mehul
