SQL Server 2008 Express Installation

Question
-
I tried to install SQL Server 2008 Express. The setup did all the numerous checkups page after page from Setup Requirement rules
all the way upto the Installation Rules page.
My computer had satisfied all of them. Setup then declared it was ready to install, but then failed to do so.
Instead I got this message:
TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Setup
------------------------------
The following error has occurred:
Cannot find service {0}.
Parameter name: MSSQLServerADHelper100

At the given web page I got the following message:

We're sorry

Thank you for searching on this message; your search helps us identify those areas for which we need to provide more information.
At the end of the setup I was informed that Database Engine Services and SQL Server Replication failed to install.
How can I sort out this issue?
Earlier on I had installed SQL Server 2005 Express after much struggle, but i tried to make connection to the database
in projects without success. Everytime it was throwing an error. So I have unistalled it. NOTE i am using Windows 7 Ultimate and, Visual Basic, C++, C# and Web Developer 2008 Express Editions which
I installed at different times.Sunday, January 9, 2011 10:43 AM

Hi bob,
Based on your post, there were one previous SQL Server 2005 Express installed before, this issue might be caused the unclean uninstall of this previous installation.
To troubleshoot this issue, please post the error log summary.txt and the Detail.txt log file indicated in the summary logs. For another way to resolve this issue, I would like to suggest you first to uninstall the SQL Server 2005 Express completely, and then try to install the new instance of SQL Server 2008 Express. Also I would like to suggest you that select a built-in service account for Database Engine rather than a domain account, after the installation, we could use Configuration Manager to change the service account for SQL Server.

Hi Papy,
You are right. The SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express could not be installed side by side with the SQL Server 2008 Express Management Studio, We could see the detail information from this article.
Thanks,

Hello Weilin Qiao,
I remember that , on this forum, according Mike Wachal, it was possible to install ( or upgrade to ) SQL Server Express 2008, even if there was already the version 2005, except if SSMSEE 2005 (SQL Server Management Studio Express Edition ) is installed.SSMSEE cannot be upgraded to any edition of SQL Server 2008 ( i had this problem ), so it must be completely uninstalled ( i am not sure but it is possible there is also a problem with Client Connectivity ( specific to Express Edition )
But , during the 1st phase of the install, there is a control related to the problem of "poisonous" elements corresponding to SSMSEE , but it is not working correctly ( thre is only a warning not a blockade like for the absence of .Net Framework , maybe repaired now )
Please, if i am going wrong, could you explain where and why ?
Have a nice day
