why do my ordered lists keep restarting? RRS feed

    ok so I have been fighting with the RDLC html issues for months now and have to get back to the list issue.. I need to have my list start, then a sublist, then behave as though the ptag item is part of the original li. However ALL attempts to get lists to keep numbering are failing.

    <ol>
    	<li> item 1
    		<ul>
    		<li>sub 1</li>
    		<li> sub 2 </li>
    		</ul>
    	</li>
    	ptag item
    	<li> item 2</li>
    	<li> item 3</li>
    </ol>

    Produce this?
    1. item 1
         sub 1
         sub 2
    ptag item
    1. item 2
    2. item 3

    I should also point out the various other versions I have tried:

    <ol>
    	<li> item 1</li>
    		<ol>
    		<li>sub 1</li>
    		<li> sub 2 </li>
    		</ol>
    		Outside list
    	<li> item 2</li>
    	<li> item 3</li>
    </ol>
    SAME result list starts re-numbering again at item 2

    <ol>
    	<li> item 1
    	                <ol>
    		<li>sub 1</li>
    		<li> sub 2 </li>
    		</ol>
    		SAME ISSUE...start renumber</li>
    	<li> item 2</li>
    	<li> item 3</li>
    </ol>

    What does work? The following does work.. but it is unfortunately in the sublist... where it should not be.
    <ol>
    <li> item 1
    	<ol>
    	<li>sub 1</li>
    	<li> sub 2 </li>
    	This does work but in the wrong place
    	</ol>
    </li>
    <li> item 2</li>
    <li> item 3</li>
    </ol>
    If anyone can throw a dogbone my way I sure would appreciate it.

    what if

    <ol>
    	<li> item 1
    		<ul>
    		<li>sub 1</li>
    		<li> sub 2 </li>
    		</ul>
    	</li>
    	<li>ptag item</li>
    	<li> item 2</li>
    	<li> item 3</li>
    </ol>

    That won't work because it would apply a number to the item. And then item 2, which must remain item 2, would look like:

    3. Item 2

    the sublist must be part of item 1 AND the ptag item must also be a part of item 1.

    it should look like

    1. Item 1

            A: sub item 1

            B: sub item 2

    a continuation of item 1

    2. Item 2

    3. Item 3

    I would just move on from this and use a table BUT since html table is not supported in Reporting services... I have to use list.

    argghh.
