How do I create a textbox with placeholder text (through powerpoint's ActiveX control)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The idea is that I'd like to prepare some fields for a person to type in, but I'd also like to incorporate some placeholder texts in these text boxes so that the person would know what kind of input it needs.

    For example, a text box with the value "Username" that would disappear or get deleted once the person clicks on the text box, or gets in focus in other word, and the user can start typing in the new value for it. When the text box is empty again (after the input by the person), the placeholder would appear once more.

    Any ideas on how I would go about in doing that? I'm looking at the VBA page and I'm not even sure how to start with this code.

    Private Sub TextBox2_Change()

    End Sub

    Thank you for the help.
