SHIFT does not override the automatic logon RRS feed

  • Question

  • From what I'm experiencing and reading in other places, it appears that Windows 7 broke the ability to override automatic logon by holding the SHIFT key down. There are apparently some hotfixes for this, but I can't get them because my WES7 machines are not connected to the Internet. Anybody know where I can get the x86 and x64 hotfixes as stand alone installers? See for more info on this. I've found what look like installers for these hotfixes on third party sites, but don't trust them.

  • Basically what I'm looking for is "Windows6.1-KB2526967-x86.msu" from a trusted Microsoft source. I was able to get the x64 version via MS Support by using my 64 bit Windows 7 desktop, but I don't have a way to get the x86 version because I don't have a 32 bit Windows 7 machine from which to try...

  • If you don't trust, check the digital signature. if it's correct the package is unmodified/valid.
