SHIFT does not override the automatic logon RRS feed

  • Question

  • From what I'm experiencing and reading in other places, it appears that Windows 7 broke the ability to override automatic logon by holding the SHIFT key down. There are apparently some hotfixes for this, but I can't get them because my WES7 machines are not connected to the Internet. Anybody know where I can get the x86 and x64 hotfixes as stand alone installers? See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2526967 for more info on this. I've found what look like installers for these hotfixes on third party sites, but don't trust them.

  • Basically what I'm looking for is "Windows6.1-KB2526967-x86.msu" from a trusted Microsoft source. I was able to get the x64 version via MS Support by using my 64 bit Windows 7 desktop, but I don't have a way to get the x86 version because I don't have a 32 bit Windows 7 machine from which to try...

  • If you don't trust, check the digital signature. if it's correct the package is unmodified/valid.
