Convert many mdb files with externally linked tables to sql without losing linked tables. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a large number of mdb files, each of which represents a single table of data. The mdb files exist within several different directories. There is a master mdb file in the topmost directory that establishes the links to all of the tables.

Is there any way to convert this to sql server without losing the linked connections?

  • Hi darrenlc,

Is there any way to convert this to sql server without losing the linked connections?

Did you mean the path of every mdb file was stored in master mdb and you just want to convert master mdb and keep path information?

Yes, we could. By using SQL Server Import and Export Wizard, we could import information from master mdb without losing those information.

If anything is unclear, please let me know.
