Making Windows better RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows needs to have each program , to install in its entirety in its own directory.

Then it can block all apps from writing to other directories.

The Index service can index files by extension into several index's.

Then Windows could use the "EXE" index to locate the app instead of a PATH.

Concerning the Registry, maybe each application would have a \reg directory with a "registry.dat" file that windows can look for, like with the indexing above.

Alot of programs, don't completely uninstall all the reg keys and directories and .dll's when you uninstall them.

With the above method, uninstalling an app just requires deleting its directory.
