Python Script Crashes after sending approx. 220000 messages RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have found that when rapid firing sensor reading to Azure IoT Central, it crashes after appx. 220000 messages. Anyone else experiencing a similar issue of a Python script crashing after appx. 220000 messages?

  • Hi,

    Can you share the script you are trying? Which pricing tier are you using? Note that, Azure IoT Hub is the core Azure PaaS that both Azure IoT Central and Azure IoT solution accelerators use. Each IoT hub is provisioned with a certain number of units in a specific tier. The tier and number of units determine the maximum daily quota of messages that you can send. Please see IoT Hub quotas and throttling for more details.

  • Were you able to resolve? If not can you share any error messages?

  • Hi,

    I have a single IoT Hub of the S1 tier (400k messages/day) After about 220k messages (all from one device in a single day), I got the following error (NUMBERCODE is a 16 digit number with a decimal after the first 10 digits and each time NUMBERCODE was a unique number, not the actual word 'NUMBERCODE'):

    - [onconnect] => status: 1

    (NUMBERCODE, 'ERROR: (sendTelementry) failed to send. MQTT client return value: 4')
