Prob with Globalization in reporting (rdlc) RRS feed

  • Question

  • first of all.. as you probably know..
    reporting in dotnet (rdlc file) are created with default language "en-US"..
    i would like to know if somebody found a trick to change the default language settings.. ?!?!

    second thing..
    at this moment, i'm setting language to =User!Language.. for EACH report.. (i need to remember to do this each time i create a new report....)
    anyway.. this make the report the same CultureInfo as Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture...
    i would like to know if somebody know how to create reports with custom default language.. because i don't want to set report's language all the time.. (i can't modified rdlc files, because they are embedded in the project)

    last thing...
    i'm using Culture fr-CA (in forms AND reports)
    In my main form: MessageBox.Show(System.DateTime.Now.ToString())
     return: 23/10/2008 15:40:12
    In report (with same Culture): =System.DateTime.Now().ToString()
     return: 2008-10-23 15:41:23

    (report replace / by -... and switch year & day order
    what the f*ck ?!..
    my workaround is to set Culture to fr-FR (France instead of Canada)
    but I don't understand why Culture fr-CA in reports are not the same format in forms..
    and I'm not sure it's a good idea to change culture from Canada to France..

    anyway.. it's time to go home..
