Excel 12 Object Library? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello:

I am using VS .net 2003 and developing a program that calls Excel.  The development computer only has Excel 2003, and the target machine only has Excel 2007.

Would it be possible to install Excel 12 Object Library in the development computer without installing Excel 2007?

    Thanks

  • Hi..

Could you please give us with more detail. Actually If you develop any COM+ then you can access your object,
creating a new com application / export the tlb files and add this as reference of your project.

    Thanks

  • The answer is no but I'm not sure why you need to unless there are new features you need from Excel 12.0. If you need new features from Excel 12.0 then a licensed copy must be installed on the development machine.

  • Thanks Md. Marufuzzaman and Paul for your reply.

Eventually, I installed VB Express 2008 in the target machine and migrated the program to VB xpress 2k8.  It works.

  • Hi..

Actually you need to use .Net framework 3.5 if possible, where you will found Microsoft Office Library as the reference of your project..

    Thanks
