how to get the default phone number of a contact? RRS feed

  • i use poom api to get the phone numbers of contacts, such as mobilephone number, homephone number etc.

    but i don't know how to get a contact's default number which is set in the system contact application.

    Actually there is no concept of defualt number in the contacts. Generally when we have multiple contacts(home, mobile, work tel)  under the same name, it just shows mobile number.  You can take Mobile number from poom directly.

    if you are talking about picking the number( which has to be picked) when we have multiple contacts, its completely based on your requirement.

    Please let me know if my understanding is wrong.

    If you wants to take the default number then you have to choose which number you want to be as default number for your application.


    Can you please give some more description ?

  • And here's the method to get the mobile number from the first contact:

    OutlookSession s = new OutlookSession;
    string number = s.Contacts.Items[0].MobileTelephoneNumber;

    It's also the number that You see in SMS Inbox during auto-fill feature.
    So I guess that's the one You want.
