App Certification kit Fails RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm running to a weird error report created by the Windows App Certification Kit.

    Here is the problem scenario:

I've a solution with two projects. Both are default blank projects. One is Windows Metro Library project and the other is Windows Metro app blank project.

    Scenario 1:

Windows App Certification shows Passed on the Windows Metro App project.

    Scenario 2:

I've Added the Library project (Empty library project with a single default class file, Class1) to the metro app and ran the Windows App Certification Kit in release mode. It has given me the FAILED report.

The report shows Failed in two tests:

    1. Crashes and Hangs test:"

Error Found: The crashes and hangs test detected the following errors:
    • Application<appID>  was detected by Windows Error Reporting and experienced a crash or hang.

    2. Performance Test:

Application Error: Application Suspend was not detected for application App. This could be because your application failed to suspend correctly. Please consider re-running the test avoid interacting with the application while tests are running.

Any reason why Scenario 2 is failing? Please help.

  • On which version are you seeing this? From your terminology it sounds like you're using Release Preview and VS 2012 RC. Can you upgrade to RTM and see if you still get the same problem (I don't)?
