Format the Selected Store Confirmation DIalog RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are using Windows Compact 7 with updates till date.

    • Go to Control panel
    • Select Storage Manager
    • Click on a part shown (PART02)
    • Click on Format available in Storage Manager

Issue is a pop window comes with title bar: Format the selected store? The option buttons shown are B1 and B2.

The confirmation dialog suppose to show Yes/No option. Why is it showing B1/B2?

Where can I configure to show options properly?

    Regards,

    GSR

  • I've heard about this before and I think in that case a re-install of the full WEC installation and all updates solved the problem. Something is messed up in your tree.

You never did a rebuild & clean sysgen on your tree (blddemo without the -q param) on your tree, right?

  • As far as I remember I never tried to break the First Rule of Windows CE Build System.

Thank you for the reply and your time.

  • Hi Michel,

On one if my colleagues machine has licensed Compact 7. After installing this using DVD we never did update, so on his desktop machine the following registry key

    For 32 bit machines:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{A4FF3FC0-A8B3-47c2-8627-CE1D2988D0D8}]

    doesn't has 'InstalledLevel'.

Recently we have downloaded M09 - 2014 update and Wave 1 update using MyOEM account.

After installing the updates, I had dismounted the DISK2 from Storage Manager applet and we see the same issue.

    Any thoughts on this issue.

  • Can you reproduce this issue?

    So, in new clean VM:

    1. Install VS2013
    2. Install all VS2013 updates
    3. Install Application Builder
    4. Install Windows EC Update 5 (no need for anything before that)
    5. Install all later Windows EC updates from MyOIEM
    6. Build your kernel and dismount SD using the storage manager applet on the device

Do you see the issue now?

If you can reproduce with the above you need to open a support incident with Microsoft because something is wrong. If not; do the above to get rid of the issue (first fully uninstall and delete any remnants of EC of course).

    Good luck,

  • Hi Michel,

Thank you for your quick reply and time.

Is this step by step installation procedure for Compact 7?

For 1 & 2, I assume it will be VS2008, as we are using Compact 7.

  • Hi GSR,

Apologies, that was indeed for WEC2013, but it's similar for WEC7. If you can do a clean install on a clean VM and still see the same issue you need to open a support incident with MS.

Where do I get the Update 5. I can see update-3 in My OEM account. But, I do not find Update 5 for Compact 7.

    Best Regards,
