SCCM 2007 & SCCM 2012 Co-existence RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have SCCM 2007 R2 in production environment that contains 300+ servers and 2500+ clients.

We are into the process of the installing SCCM 2012. At present we have 2 SCCM 2007 R2 application servers sharing SCCM roles (DC's on windows 2008 &  forest and domain level 2003). New setup of SCCM 2012 servers are again going to be 2 SCCM Servers (this time VIRTUAL SERVERS) with Windows 2012 OS and SCCM DB on SQL 2008 R2 Server (SP2).

I have below queries for SCCM Expert Community :-) :

    1. From the blogs, i read that no schema further needs to be extended but after having installed the Operating system on the Virtual Servers, What should be the guidelines or recommended steps to proceed further with installation and configuration SCCM 2012 application.
    2. For instance, i have current site code as CB1, do i need to use another site code in the new setup like BN1 or i can use the same site code.
    3. We want clients to be discovered, assigned and reporting to new SCCM 2012 site i.e. BN1. How to achieve that ? How to push the new client to the server and desktops having SCCM 2007 client.

Can anyone advice on this...?  :-)

    Awaiting response
